Faith Public Library Internet Use Agreements


Minor Internet/Computer Access Contract
I understand that when I am using the Internet or any other telecommunication device, I must adhere to all rules of courtesy, etiquette and laws regarding access and copying of information as prescribed by Federal, State or local law, US Link and the Faith Public Library.
These computers and internet access are connected to the Faith School District/South Dakota Department of Education State School Network. Each user will follow the Student Internet Access Agreement of the Faith School District for after school use at the library.
Technology is for use: 1) school work/ looking up library resources; 2) other.
Education is first, appropriate librarian approved games are allowed (state what you will be using the computer for). Printing is at no charge if school related otherwise, a fee of 15 cents per page (to be collected prior to printing).
Children under the age of 18, who have not graduated from high school, are only allowed to have access to computers which are on the school network connection.
If anyone violates the library computer usage, that individual may be banned may be up to a year, from using the library technology (subject to consequences as stated in Faith School District use policy). This agreement will be valid for one year from date signed and updated yearly at the beginning of school year.
If other people are waiting for the computer, allotted usage time is 60 minutes.
This agreement is valid for one year from the date signed. Updated yearly at the beginning of school year. Renewed annually.

Adult Internet/Computer Access Contract__
The use of the Internet is a privilege, not a right, and inappropriate use will result in a cancellation of those privileges. The Faith Library Staff will deem what is inappropriate use and their decision is final. The Faith Library may deny, revoke, or suspend specific user access at any time.
UNACCEPTABLE USE
Internet computers will not be used for illegal activity, to access illegal materials, or to access materials that, by local community standards would be obscene. Examples of unacceptable use include, but not limited to:
  • Degrading or disrupting equipment or system performance
  • Installation, downloading, or modification of software
  • Vandalizing the data of any other user
  • Gaining unauthorized access to resources, restricted files or networks
  • Attempting to view or read material being used by others
  • Violating Federal, State, or local laws or regulations
  • Using sounds or visuals that may be disruptive to others
  • Accessing material that is obscene, such as any type of pornography or sites with “harmful to minors” labels.
